I am still shocked that trackpad mode was not a headlining feature of force touch and go out of my way to demonstrate it to others simply because I feel leaving anyone with just the loupe is cruel.
Elton John is one of these figures that showed me how people who generally disliked homosexuals, were happy to carve out an exception for the likes of him. I don’t take pleasure in this hypocrisy, but rather get a tiny amount of solace in the flimsiness of hate.
Holy shit. This commercial. pic.twitter.com/aXewAG5C3i

One feature of Slack that I am surprised isn’t more widely copied is the ability to react with any emoji.
I can’t be sure, but I think at least two thirds of the @atpfm guys are attempting to hack/tempt Murphy’s Law by releasing a stylish tee-shirt featuring the trash can as the most recent pro Mac.

Another reason to host your own microblog and simply share posts as tweets is that doing so makes transitioning shorter thoughts into longer ones very easy without the ugliness of multiple tweets.

The All Powerful and Deeply Flawed Calendar
A small revelation I had this morning is that the calendar is an inherently broken metaphor, especially for those doing deep work. Calendars speak in terms of “busy” or “free”, but in use that translates to “busy with other meetings” and “free to meet”. The metaphor has no accommodation for anything else so all other work defaults to the latter. In practice, this allows meetings to consume time completely unopposed simply because all other work has no mechanism1 to push back within the all powerful calendar.

Short of disguising it as a meeting. ↩︎
For those like me who can get somewhat overwhelmed by Slack’s crazy sidebar, I switched to the setting that shows only “unreads and starred conversations” yesterday and am already feeling more sane.
Kyle MacLachlan is one of the few celebrities I follow on Twitter, in part because he regularly shares cool fan art. I particularly love the Dune work below. https://twitter.com/Kyle_MacLachlan/status/1060904540537528321
I think this 2015 post I wrote about PC laptop has aged particularly well.

The progress in the last few years in the Windows laptop game is very impressive. Microsoft Surface clearly a huge force. Cc @stevesi

Great video. I particularly like the bit about Democrats treating any emphasis on “the ends” as somehow amoral.
This video/argument is extremely good: https://t.co/uBaZziPNDH
