Goomba (our Roomba) was wondering around with its brushes going, but not actually vacuuming. When I pointed this out to my wife, Goomba immediately stopped for a few seconds and then aggressively started vacuuming. Coincidence?

You can disable snooze in iOS!?
(I don’t use snooze as, after years of being tortured by 80s-era buzzer alarms in my formative years, I’ve been conditioned to get up either with or just before my alarm goes off, and I’ve always hated that the snooze button was more prominent than the stop button.)

Here’s a couple of other reports of suspicious justification to lower Apple trade-in values. My concern isn’t the $250 I lost in trading in a five-year-old phone, it’s the loss of trust with Apple’s trade-in process.

Apple Trade-In Woes
Apple lowered the trade-in value of iPhone 11 Pro to $0, claiming that the port doesn’t work due to a broken pin. This is the same port I used to transfer data to my new iPhone 15 Pro just prior to shipping the trade-in. I asked the rep if there was anything I could have done to prove the phone functioned prior to shipping. They didn’t have an answer. I don’t know for sure there is foul play, but I do know that I shipped a phone with a working port and that the lack of recourse is problematic.
The Apple Watch remains a really nice digital watch in my mind, because it’s much more about utility than fashion or intrinsic value. That said, it dresses up well. I love the look of my stainless steel Series 6 with the my new California Poppy leather band.

My Shortcut to Convert TSV to Markdown
Here’s a shortcut I wrote that converts TSV to a Markdown table. It doesn’t do any of the fancy alignment stuff, but it does try to make the resulting table look decent via proper padding. Also, it doesn’t use any Mac specific scripting or third party shortcuts so it should work out of the box across Apple’s platforms.
