I’ll add that my criticism of this particular company’s abuse of H1-Bs has nothing to do with the mostly good, if not great, individual H1-Bs or contractors I worked with.
That said, the whole reason the company was outsourcing to begin with was to get cheaper labor. Even if these H1-Bs were competitively paid, they were effectively hired by the contractor to work with said contractor’s cheaper offshore labor. Money was still the driver. Not talent. 2/2
I assumed a former employer switched almost exclusive to H1-Bs for a certain non-specialized role because they were cheaper. Reading this, it’s more likely that these H1-Bs were a byproduct of outsourcing. 1/2

“That was the time I realized fully that you can’t fake Batman. You can’t just make a deep, husky sound with your voice. You have to base it in the pain of his childhood each time or it doesn’t sound right.”
To me, Kevin Conroy is Batman like Christopher Reeves is Superman. Other actors have done and will continue to do a great job with that role, no doubt, but they will always feel off-brand in comparison.
