Just bought @RogueAmoeba‘s SoundSource because among other features, it lets me control volume on my USB-C monitor. This means I can connect one cable to get power, USB peripherals, and now headphones (thanks to SoundSource.)

A couple weeks in and I really like the new office setup. I can actually use my iMac now. The iMac used to be in a different room upstairs so using it effectively meant isolating myself. The office being downstairs means I can still be around while working on personal projects.
I wish Siri added punctuation depending on the command used. You can already use “tell” and “ask” when messaging with Siri so “ask ______ when will dinner be done” will send the message “when will dinner be done”, but you still have to say “question mark” to add punctuation.
These past few weeks are a harsh reminder that our heroes in civil service also deserve recognition.
These days, free software is usually part of scheme that juices adoption so its makers can:
- Sell more user data.
- Hoodwink more investors.

Internet was out last night so my wife and I watched broadcast TV for the first time since the Super Bowl. The number of casual COVID-19 ads was like a background scene in a movie trying to convey the societal norms within its dystopian setting.
This is what I have been calling “shit happens bias.” Impropriety from Democrats is rightfully scrutinized by our news media whereas even the most overt corruption among Republicans is accepted as normal.

I usually avoid third party accessories, but I got one of those PowerA GameCube style controllers and already my hands feel right at home.
The largely improvised white pizza with homemade parmesan-garlic cream sauce, sautéed spinach, Roma tomatoes, and mozzarella turned out pretty damn good, if I do say so myself.
