Sharon Apple is a character from Macross Plus, an Anime OVA (similar to a mini-series.) The best way I can describe her is as if HAL 9000 (who she is clearly based off of) was made into J-pop idol, but still went insane.
I was immediately drawn to Sharon Apple as a character and a concept. Since she was a virtual idol who used music and singing as mind control weapons I was like, “OK, let’s brainwash some people!”
