I once had to explain to my father that a vast majority of workers my age don’t have the luxury of staying 30+ years in one job like he did. Without pensions, career development, or even raises, changing jobs becomes the only sensible option to stave off career stagnation.

I was just saying that Republicans aren’t playing four dimensional chess. They are playing four dimensional bullshit. They lay a foundation of bullshit before making a specific bullshit claim, often in one sentence.
“Commodified” is such a good word. Just as you don’t typically exercise taste when buying batteries, advertisers don’t typically exercise taste when buying your attention with digital advertising.
