I just realized that apps in the iOS/iPadOS dock don’t show their names. This usually isn’t a problem, but it became an issue when I was building a shortcut that launched my preferred music player whose name eluded me at the time.

Is told that the approval in one system is not enough, that a comment in a second system is also required.

Writes a comment in the second system.

Sees an auto-generated email from a third system telling me that I commented in the second system.

This is the bad place.

Whether you would zone Frustrated Inc. from Soul Asylum’s “Misery” as industry or commercial in Sim City is a question that I’ve pondered more often than I’d like to admit.

The chef at Cafe Democrat sometimes serves bad food, which regulars hate.

The chef at Cafe Republican always defecates in the food, which regulars love because they feel superior when others have to eat shit.

The critics mostly focus on consistency and atmosphere.

What Slack apparently thinks I want instead: More notifications from strangers I don’t even work with.

What I want from Slack: Ability to time box notifications from a given channel. Examples: Mute “Engineering-All” for the next hour(, because the tabs vs spaces debate has blown up again.) Unmute: “Support for the next 30 minutes (so I see any immediate responses to my request.)”

Me: Reliably picks up so that the robot vacuum can run without issues.

Also me: Frequently forgets to start the robot vacuum despite having just done the above.
