Seeing a Mastodon post get a decent amount of attention after a similar Tweet barely got noticed really taps into a paranoid sense that I was being suppressed by Twitter’s algorithm.

I mean… it’s probably just that Mastodon has a different, nerdier audience, right? RIGHT!? 👀💧

I get why folks are optimistic on AI. Technologically, I am too. What I am pessimistic about is how cultures will respond to machines suddenly being able to do more kinds of work, especially here in the U.S., where we lack safety nets and human value is equated to work ethic.

One of things that bugs me about the NFL is how sometimes the refs just stop calling certain penalties during the playoffs.

While Musk could be pulling the plug on 3rd party clients, my guess is that something broke because pissing people off is something you do over the weekend, not on a Thursday night. Either way, there’s never been a better time to switch to Mastodon than right now.

I was just thinking about how Flash and ActionScript remain the best tool I can remember that progressively taught people how to code. I watched plenty of folks go from not having written a single line of code to writing their own object oriented and strongly typed frameworks.

I didn’t realize how good the 3DS versions of Ocarina of Time and Majora’s Mask are. I assumed they were like the GameCube ports, which merely had better textures, but the graphics are significantly improved. Also having motion controls for the slingshot, bow, etc… is fantastic.
