Washington Generals To Have Parade

After last night’s lopsided affair, The Washington Generals are throwing a parade. Earl, a Texas farmer and Generals supporter, says he plans on attending after seeing his team once again outplay their rivals, The Harlem Globetrotters. “The Generals looked as good as they’ve ever been.” Fans of the Generals often cite the team’s down-to-earth appeal as a source for their unwavering support. “You just get the sense that they really get how mainstream America plays basketball” claimed stay at home mom, Jennifer. “I think those Globetrotters have just lost touch”, she added. Even some Harlem fans concede a disconnect with how their team plays. “I certainly couldn’t make those shots” admits James, an IT worker from New York.

The Globetrotters and their fans were already reeling from five missed baskets just last week. Seeing their team stumble with two more last night was too unbearable for some. Asked if she would be attending the next Harlem game, Simone told us she’s had enough for now. “So soon after last night,” she quipped, clearly in thrown by the question.

Fans for both teams were informally polled on whether they would consider switching teams. Surprisingly, many Harlem followers said they would try rooting for the Generals “for fun.” Fans of the Washington team were less inclined. “Maybe if that other team moved to Washington and changed their name,” mused Stan, a small business owner.

For now it’s unclear how the The Globetrotters can rebound in the face of these resurgent Generals and their dedicated fans.

The Parade is scheduled for Tuesday at 10 AM.
