I am glad Caitlin Gibson is highlighting social media’s “keeping up with the Joneses” problem, especially when it comes to parenting, but I can’t help but wonder if opening with a profile about a mother coping with medical difficulties undercut her message. Unrealistic “Instagram expectations” isn’t just a problem limited to parents with difficult circumstances. It’s a problem that can make any parent feel inadequate.
