My 2016 Rant on False Equivalency

While there are some areas of overlap, falsely equating the two major parties/candidates in general via “well both sides… blah blah blah bullshit” is an inaccurate and dangerous schtick that I find is often used by the lazy, ignorant and/or pompous that ultimately discourages voting. Then, only after the worse candidate (because there is a worse candidate) gets elected, do some of these assholes pull a 180 to lament the disaster that’s befallen all of us.

If you believe the election has consequences, you must concede it matters who wins. Then if you believe it matters who wins, you have to concede that the candidates aren’t entirely the same. And if you believe that the candidates aren’t the same, then get off your ass, register, and vote for the one with least scary foreseeable consequences.
